Friday, December 4, 2026 The Ghost Of Hemingway

7:00 - 8:30 PM

F@H's features English professor, storyteller, and author Dr. Bill Hillman for a discussion of literature and his life, including his ongoing participation in Pamplona’s Running of the Bulls.

Tonight, Hillman will explore how Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises changed the course of his life. He will draw parallels between his own experiences and the alienation felt by some young people today, especially men, drawn to the likes of Joe Rogan, Nick Fuentes and the late Charlie Kirk. These men can feel alienated, riddled with despair, misogyny, anger, are attracted to fascism, neo Nazism, antisemitism, suffer severe mental illness, often leading to suicide.

We consider how literature can offer a sense of connection and purpose, specifically the centennial publication of Hemingway’s novel and its transformative effect on this “lost generation?”

This discussion will be moderated by Anthony Millspaugh, adjunct professor East-West University Chicago and Foundation Volunteer.

Donation Admission includes one drink ticket.
